Christmas time with some jazzy melancholy
Hiatus Kaiyote | Christmas time is here
7 December 2021
Christmas time is right behind the corner and Iโve been in need of something fresh, new and non-conventional in terms of Christmas songs. Hiatus Kate comes to the rescue as always with a bit of a misty and silvery christmas single. Melancholic, with just the right touch of nostalgia, it is a truly beautiful christmas track to put on, whenever you get the need to blur into the soft and warm, yet snowy spirit. The voice of Nai enters fresh and cold, almost like the winter wind trying to snugg into the room whenever we open the door.

Ausie Spirit
Tash Sultana | Terra Firma
23 May 2021
The first time I heard Tash Sultana was on Youtube – her live bedroom session – and I couldnt believe what is happening! A solo artist, translucidely connecting to music, and me being able to feel it in my own small bedroom. Years have passed, I continued to listen to her music and eventually went to see her live performance in Berlin. This was when I realized what an extraordinary musician Tash Sultana is. The new album “Terra Firma” – solid ground –ย reached me like a 14 song message touching upon different aspects of the sense of being human,

Ambien Gallery of Music
Maqueta | Enero
15 May 2021
. Iย feel that music has a lot in common with the art of painting –ย it creates an image, an explosion of colors, feelings and visions in our minds without us even noticing. โEneroโ is an exhibition of emotions and sensations that float heavy, yet free in an underwater gallery of the Universe of Music. Expression, memories and feelings transmitted through sounds, to later reach the deepest parts of the body and soul. Dimensional and soothing, freeing and heartbreaking – these are the thoughts that emerged from my mind after listening to the album โEneroโ by Maqueta.

Memories of Paradise
Soulwax | Close to Paradise
8 May 2021
I feel that music is this neverending space where anything can happen, where everything is welcome and can be experimented. This was what I thought after listening to โClose to Paradiseโย by Soulwax (in collaboration with Michel Gaubert and LOEWE). The track uses interviews (which are added seperately to the album) with travelers and hippies who ended up on Ibiza in the 70s and 80s. “Close to paradise” combines tropical electronic music and nature sounds as a base for mind-opening thoughts and memories in the interviews. This was something I really needed to hear after being in quarantine for a

Dark Waters Of Argentina
Agua Oscura | Volumen 1
2 May 2021
After spending a year and a half in Argentina I discovered many small bands from South America. Those types of bands I would never have discovered without living there and meeting people who create and share what they love.ย Agua Oscura (meaning โdark waterโ in English) is one of those bands. The first album of this mystic and spiritual duet ( simply named Volumen 1) took me so much by surprise, that I caught myself wandering around the streets of Buenos Aires listening to it twice in a row. The artists created a unique ambience with South American folklore,

A tribute to Miyazaki and his “Castle In The Sky”
Hiatus Kaiyote | Laputa
25 April 2021
Seeing art imerge and interchange between one another is something that makes me feel that everything is continuously connected.ย Art is made to influence, to inspire and to move the idea of creating forward. This is what came to my mind when listening to โLaputaโ – a song by Hiatus Kaiyote from the album โChoose Your Weaponโ. Thisย jazz-funk band from Melbourne creates a very peculiar ambience with their imaginative and fusion-based work. They themselves call the style โwondercoreโ…and after hearing what they do, well… no wonder. The song โLaputaโ was created as a tribute, after the retirement of

Train Ride Into Music
Esperanza Spalding | Emily's D+Evolution
14 April 2021
I used to travel by train all the time, and would always prepare music to take on the ride. A perfect soundtrack that would flow by the changing scenery,ย the train windows becoming a music video of all times! Whenever I go back to the most โmemorableโ train trips, I hear the amazing voice and musical creation of Esperanza Spalding. She would take me into a different dimension, presenting an entire play of emotions/questions in one album. Spaldingโs Emilyโs D+Evolution album, is a piece of art big time – not only to be listened to but also to be seen
