Rob Lalain began his musical journey at age 12, self-teaching himself to play multiple instruments and write songs. He first entered the music industry in 1989 with his debut single ‘Drifting Apart‘ and after a long hiatus, he has returned with renewed vigor and a series of new releases, reflecting a deep passion for his craft.

Bulletproof” featuring Sean Weyers, stands out as a significant collaboration that bridges Lalain’s classic rock roots with contemporary sounds. This track serves as a powerful testament to Lalain’s creative evolution and resilience.

The album’s rich instrumentation from the vintage 1957 Fender American Telecaster Pro to the Martin D-28 acoustic adds depth and texture. Lalain’s use of eclectic instruments, including harpsichord and Native Instrument Keyboards, enriches the soundscape and mirrors his artistic revival.

Rob’s extensive collection of instruments plays a pivotal role in the unique sound of Life. The album features a diverse array of electric guitars, including the 1957 Fender American Telecaster Pro, 1960 Gibson Les Paul, Epiphone Casino, 2021 Fender Ultra Stratocaster, 2022 Fender Jaguar “Kurt Cobain” Edition, and the 2022 Epiphone Riviera “Noel Gallagher” Edition. The acoustic guitar selection includes the Martin D-28 and Martin D JR 2 Sapele, while the bass guitar lineup features the 1963 Hofner Violin Bass, 1966 Fender Jazz Bass, and Rickenbacker 4003 Mapleglo Bass. Additionally, Lalain incorporates piano, Native Instrument Keyboards, Lumi Keyboards, harpsichord, and Ludwig drums to create the album’s rich and textured soundscape.

The title track, ‘Life‘ encapsulates Lalain’s reflective journey with its profound lyrics and intricate arrangements. As Lalain notes,

“When I got back into music in 2020 during Covid, I never thought I would be releasing 2 albums, 12 singles, and 6 music videos in 4 years.”
