Three years ago, Saefari began his return to songwriting after a ten-year break, driven by a need to create music that would allow him to understand himself and the world around him. Crafting Wolfheart with a blend of acoustic and steel guitars, piano, synthesisers, string quartet, Hammond organ, and more, to evoke rich emotional textures. Additional creative support in London came from Marco Pasquariello on mixing and Guy Davie on mastering, helping to bring out the album’s hauntingly intimate and raw sound.

The album is about capturing raw emotion and the human spirit; The songs on the album differ in mood and feel but maybe the most common mood is heartbreak. There are a number of songs on the album about the loss of love or the yearning of it.

Wolfheart is deeply inspired by artists like Nick Cave, Bonnie Prince Billy, PJ Harvey, and Jeff Buckley, whose influences seep through in Saefari’s ability to capture complex emotions. With each track, he explores loss, love, and reflection, creating an album as lyrically poignant as it is musically versatile. The album release is accompanied by a music video for the track ‘Ice Queen’ and will see Saefari perform live across Iceland, with plans to bring his music to European audiences soon. Alongside this, he aims to amplify his reach through radio play in Iceland, while also championing personal causes such as veganism and mental health advocacy through his artistic work.
