Kelvin Taylor is a multi-talented musician who plays both the guitar and piano, with a deep passion for writing his own music. Raised in the rich cultural environment of New Jersey with Sierra Leonean heritage, Kelvin music is a blend of his American upbringing and African roots. His journey as an artist took a significant turn after his visit to Sierra Leone in 2021, where he found inspiration for his Afrobeat-infused track, “Born in America.”

Kelvin music is a reflection of his life journey, combining disciplined effort with a deep connection to the vocal and instrumental elements of his work. Guided by the mentorship of his parents, who have been his greatest inspiration, he approaches music with a deep respect for the traditions they passed down to him. Kelvin is motivated by challenges, seeing them as opportunities to sharpen his skills and test his authenticity. With a strong belief that every step forward is a chance to level up, he continues to evolve as an artist.

“Born in America” was crafted during the final days in his studio apartment, a space filled with creativity and collaboration. The song captures the vibrant energy of a Super Bowl day, translating that excitement into a powerful Afrobeat anthem. For Kelvin, music is more than just an art form; it is a way to showcase a new light on Sierra Leonean culture and express the essence of being African in America.

While Kelvin acknowledges the business side of the music industry, he remains grounded in the belief that true authenticity comes from understanding oneself. Music is love, and through his work, Kelvin invites listeners to embark on a journey of self-discovery and cultural exploration.
