This is somewhat of a public service announcement. Back in a previous #forYourEarsForYourEyes email I recommended the still really good Apple power beats headphones.
They are still a great pair of headphones for the gym especially, but there’s a big catch and it feels like one of these daft design flaws that make it into products. They are advertised as sweat and water resistant - but very importantly that applies only to the headphones themselves. The charging case, which you have to put the headphones in so they’ll properly sleep and not drain the battery, is not water proof at all. So if you put the headphones in it with even a bit of moisture still on you run the risk of water damaging the case, especially an issue if there’s any moisture on the charging connection points.

Obviously being an understanding tech company Apple will class this as negligent water damage and you aren’t getting any repairs on warranty.

So I’d say I still recommend the headphones, the sound is good, the fit is great for exercising. But be aware of this limitation! Make sure you dry the earpieces thoroughly before putting them in the case!
