Now,ย maybe my title is ever-so-slightly clickbait. In reality, who’s out there calling Foster The People a one-hit-wonder band? Well, I was, through sheer ignorance alone. I had only ever heard the world-famous “Pumped Up Kicks” (who some peopleย still sing along to totally oblivious of the morbid subject matter). I’m now seeing how unfair it was to think of the band as so, since discovering more of their music. And you just don’t get it, you keep it copacetic, and you learn to accept it, you know you’re so pathetic. Those two lines have been echoing endlessly around my skull since listening to this song. Maybe that’s not such a surprise, though, considering the track is 32 lines long and only 8 of them are NOT some rendition of these words. I can’t complain when then tune is so catchy. It screams 1990’s alternative rock, like Nirvana and The Offspring had a love child. Sure enough, Illinois band Local H dropped “Bound For Floor” in their 1996 albumย As Good

Cage the Elephant | Shake Me Down

Cage the Elephant have quickly been rising the ranks of my favourite artists ever since I stumbled over their song “Cigarette Daydreams”. Down the rabbit hole I fell, and as time went on, I noticed their rather unique name popping up in my playlist more and more. Before long, I think it was safe to say I’d earned the title of ‘a fan’.
